Mooncake Festival Celebration 2010

Mooncake Festival Celebration, an event brought to you by ICC.

We had our Mooncake Festival Celebration on 27 September 2010. Indeed, it was a great success. Thanks to ALL who came and made it a night of celebration filled with fun and excitement. I'm sure those who made it that night would agree with me.

Here are some highlights of the event.

It started out with performances by the UTP Chinese Orchestra where they entertained us with two songs.

We then had some singing performances by our very own ICC members, Darren and Eet Ying. We were all mesmerized by both of their singing, Heroes by Mariah Carey

Another amazing guitar performance by Foo Piew.

Even the MCs are enjoying themselves that night. Thanks Meki and Joey for bringing the excitement to the crowd.

Then, we had our Karaoke session. I'm pretty sure everyone was delighted with everyone else's singing.

Last but not least, the most anticipated activity of the night: The Haunted Route. All the excited members are so eager to see what we've installed for them in our first-ever haunted route in UTP. Some screamed, some laughed, some were scared and thrilled but most importantly all had fun and enjoyed.

We can see their excitement and eagerness to enter our haunted route. Rawr!
It was more than what they expected and it was more than enough to trigger their heart.
It wasn't only about seeing the "ghost", it was about experiencing the "ghost" and making the way out from the haunted route.

These are all the mock-up "ghosts" behind the scene.
The committees have made it a surreal experience :)

It was a great success. A very big thank you to all ICC committees and members who put in all the effort to make this event happen! Thanks also to all the sponsors that contributed in our event as well. We really appreciate all of you who have directly or indirectly been a part of our event.

THANK YOU! :)

Hope to see you all in our upcoming events.

Mooncake Festival Celebration 2010

MOONCAKE CELEBRATION IS BACK!!!

WITH MORE FUN N EXCITEMENT !!!
COME AND JOIN US!!!

Mooncake festival, also known as Mid-Autumn Festival or Lantern Festival, is a time when children run around with colorful lanterns and families gather for some delicious mooncakes filled with sweet or savory fillings. It is the only time of the year when children are allowed to stay up late and play with colorful lanterns. Some carry colored lanterns in the shape of animals and their favorite cartoon character, while others carry traditional round paper lanterns that are usually used as decoration.

A popular Chinese myth related to the Mooncake Festival involves the immortal Chang Er who lives on the moon. She was very beautiful and people celebrate her beauty during the mooncake festival, when the moon is at its brightest and roundest - on the 15th of eight lunar month.

This year the Mooncake Festival falls on 22 of September, which is this coming Wednesday. It is not a public holiday but do not be despair you cannot celebrate it with your family because on 27 September 2010 (Monday), we will be having a mooncake celebration in LH1 where we can all gather and celebrate with our beloved friends J

Come and bring a mooncake to share and get a rebate of RM2. There'll be performances by the Chinese Orchestra and breakdances by our very own international-level performers from UTP. There will also be a Mini Singing Competition to showcase your talent. You will be entertained with fun games and activities as well.

Do join us also in our Lantern Parade around UTP. It is a tradition to walk in a parade with lanterns during this festival. You just have to be there and join in the fun parade. And you would not want to miss out the adventurous haunted route we have installed for you. Come and be astounded by it.

If you've somebody in mind you wish to dedicate a mooncake to, do not hesitate to visit our booth at Pocket D and USM. You pick your choice of mooncake, we deliver and dedicate it for you. So, take this chance to dedicate it to your friends and loved ones.

Come and be a part of ICC :)
